Sources, Permissions & Ecclesiastical Status
Effective September 21, 2026
Saint Bible keeps the status of a source distinct from the status of the app. An approval, permission, or public-domain designation applies only to the material and use specifically identified.
Our status
Saint Bible is an independently produced Scripture-reading and devotional resource from Serverbin, Inc. It is not an official publication of the Holy See, the United States Conference of Catholic Bishops, another bishops’ conference, a diocese, parish, religious institute, or other ecclesiastical authority.
Saint Bible as a whole has not received an imprimatur or nihil obstat. We do not describe the app as “Church approved,” and the presence of clergy, religious, advisers, contributors, partnerships, or approved source material would not by itself constitute ecclesiastical approval of the complete product.
How to read a source status
The named edition carries the ecclesiastical approval stated by its publisher. That approval remains limited to that edition and does not extend to Saint Bible commentary, design, narration, illustrations, or other original material.
The rights holder has authorized the identified use. Permission is a copyright status, not necessarily an ecclesiastical endorsement.
No copyright is claimed in the source text where it is lawfully in the public domain. Status can vary by country and does not imply Church approval of this app.
The material was written, adapted, designed, or generated for Saint Bible. It is editorial content from Serverbin unless a specific page records a separate review or approval.
Current Scripture edition
Historical English Catholic Bible text. Saint Bible identifies this text as public domain in the United States. It is offered for personal reading, prayer, and study and is not presented as the official lectionary for Mass in any jurisdiction.
Historical introductions and annotations are preserved where included in the source edition. They may contain archaic language and historical commentary. Their appearance does not make them new statements by an ecclesiastical authority or by Saint Bible.
If another Bible translation is introduced, this page will identify its exact edition, copyright owner, permission status, permitted uses, and any ecclesiastical approval supplied for that edition before it is made available.
Traditional prayers and devotional works
Traditional prayers, rosaries, chaplets, litanies, novenas, saint writings, papal texts, and other devotional works are not treated as one undifferentiated collection. Each work must be classified according to its own source and rights status. A work may be public domain, quoted within applicable limits, licensed, or used by express permission.
Where Saint Bible adapts, abridges, translates, or adds prompts to a traditional work, the adaptation is identified separately from the underlying source. A traditional title or longstanding use in Catholic devotion does not by itself establish that every modern translation, arrangement, recording, or edition is free of copyright.
Original Saint Bible material
Saint reflections, book and chapter overviews, salvation-history explanations, prayer histories, Program commentary, family-prayer prompts, interface guidance, and other authored material are original Saint Bible editorial content unless a page identifies another source.
These materials are intended to support reverent reading and prayer. They are not Scripture, magisterial documents, canonization decrees, homilies, official catechetical texts, or substitutes for pastoral guidance. They have not received ecclesiastical approval unless a specific item expressly records the approving authority, date, jurisdiction, and scope.
Narration, images, and generated media
Audio narration, visual contemplations, illustrations, summaries, and supporting media may be created or assisted by software and artificial-intelligence services. Narration is checked against the displayed source text where that verification is available, but generated audio is not a new Bible translation or an official proclamation of Scripture. Illustrations are devotional interpretations rather than authenticated portraits, relics, historical photographs, or official sacred images.
How approvals will be published
If Saint Bible receives a license, nihil obstat, imprimatur, diocesan review, or other formal authorization, we will publish the exact work covered, the authority granting it, the date, the territory or jurisdiction when relevant, and any limits on the authorization. We will not use an approval belonging to one edition or work to imply approval of unrelated content or the entire app.
Endorsements, advisory relationships, contributor credentials, and parish or diocesan partnerships will be described as such and will not be relabeled as canonical approval.
Corrections and rights inquiries
We welcome corrections concerning attribution, source fidelity, permissions, historical context, or ecclesiastical status.
